The name "Savannah" tells us already: the origin of this race comes from the African savannah. The savannah cat is the result of the crossing of African Serval and a house or breed cat. Spread see picture at the right.
For the mating they used e.g. Bengal, Egytian or Ocicat. Today the young ones should come exclusively from a Savannah X Savannah mating.
